October 1975
Louisville Chinese Christians began meeting semi-regularly at the house of brother Fan. Dr. Fan (a professor of microbiology at U of L.) and Pastor Cheng (a doctoral candidate at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary) founded the group named "Louisville Chinese Christian Bible Study Group"

March 1976
Because of the increase in numbers of people attending the bible study, they began meeting every Friday night at the U of L Baptist Student Union (BSU).

August 1978
The bible study continued to grow, adding a number of new families and individuals. At this point the group was renamed the Louisville Chinese Christian Fellowship (LCCF). In addition to meeting regularly on Friday nights, the group began meeting on Sunday morning for worship.

November 1978
The fellowship became a member of the Midwest Chinese Christian Association (headquartered in Dayton, Ohio). The MCCA sent a speaker once every month to speak on one Sunday, and the remainder of the month’s meetings were led by Southern Baptist Theological Seminary students.

The fellowship began using the Lyndon Baptist Church facilities as a meeting place, which was offered at no charge. However, the fellowship elected to share in the costs of operating the church building.

Hoping to have its own building, the church set up a building fund.
